Solarflare to Discuss Next-Generation Data Center Strategies at Technology Exploration Forum and Ethernet Technology Summit

IRVINE, Calif. – February 2, 2010 – Dr. Steve Pope, Dr. Bruce Tolley and Dr. George Zimmerman, executives from Solarflare Communications, the company pioneering 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE), will present during two upcoming industry events this month. Speaking at the Ethernet Alliance’s Technology Exploration Forum and Ethernet Technology Summit respectively, Solarflare’s senior technologists will provide expert insight on green trends in data center management and tactics for low-latency trading.

At the Ethernet Alliance’s Technology Exploration Forum, Solarflare Co-Founder and CTO Dr. Pope will discuss how to best leverage I/O Virtualization, (IOV)-capable devices and a 10GbE environment to improve the performance of virtualized applications. Dr. Pope will quantify the performance benefits of IOV operation for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and outline control plane challenges. He will also discuss new technologies that can be used to overcome bottleneck issues in next-generation data centers.
