Solarflare to Speak at 2015 STAC Summits: London and New York
IRVINE, CA—June 3, 2015 —Solarflare, the leader in application-intelligent 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) networking software and hardware, today announced that Ron Miller, Director of Technical Marketing, Security Services at Solarflare will be speaking on how to view the role of host-level security in light of threat evolution and technology advancements at the upcoming STAC events in London and New York
Miller will address how the move to virtualization is inevitable for today's enterprises, yet security risks are top concerns as the usual defenses are not ready for the virtualization and cloud computing environments. He will highlight how host systems have traditionally been left out of the network defense in depth paradigm due to the computational cost, as well as performance tradeoffs required to deploy robust security and monitoring solutions on production systems. From this talk, organizations will learn how to leverage these host system capabilities in a virtualization environment to distribute an active security that allows real-time updates of the security features to block, rate limit, log or alert on suspicious traffic.
STAC Summits bring together industry leaders from top financial and technology firms to discuss the latest business issues and technical trends around big data, fast data and big compute. STAC® is a technology research firm that facilitates the STAC Benchmark Council™, a group of leading financial firms and technology vendors.
